A program about women and passion. Bizet's L'Arlesiane is a story about the love of a woman so strong that it leads to madness and death.
Sarasate's Carmen-Fantasi is a virtuoso piece inspired by the fiery Carmen in Bizet's opera. Love is also in focus with Hugo Alfvén's "Sunnöve Solbakken", a suite composed for the Swedish film of the same name from 1957, which is a kind of Nordic "Romeo and Juliet story".
These stories are now performed by two young women who are both making their Gävled debut.
