The nature reserve of Stora Bolleberget
A well-visited outdoor area near the city centre of Bollnäs.
Stora Bolleberget's nature reserve offers real Hälsingeskog, close but still with a feeling of being far away. Bolletjärnen is a nice excursion destination for the whole family with an accessibility-adapted path all the way from the parking right at the start, and is the reserve's natural center. In several different places in the nature reserve there are arranged barbecue sites and windbreaks, where you can take a well-deserved break and just enjoy the magical forest. For the slightly more fit, it is no problem to walk all the way from town to Bolleberget. A walk of about 4 km.
Stora and Lilla Bolleberget together form this well-visited outdoor area both summer and winter. Here is a well-developed track system and a network of paths and trails for hiking, running and cycling, ranging from 1 km - 17 km. In the winter, the shoes and bike are replaced with skis.
At Bollnäs tourist information, there is a free folder with an overview map of Stora Bolleberget's nature reserve. It is also available digitally on the County Administrative Board's website. There you will also find information about more nature reserves in our area.

Map & directions
How to get here Stora Bollebergets Nature Reserve is located about 4 km northwest of Bollnäs centre. From Road 83, turn west towards the hospital. After about 1,6 km (at the hospital), turn right towards Bolletjärnen. After about 2,5 km on this road comes the first opportunity for parking on the left side. This is well suited to then reach Stora Bolleberget's peak on foot. To reach Bolletjärnen, continue straight ahead until you reach a turning point. Park there and follow the boardwalk up to the lake (about 2 km). To reach the top of Lilla Bolleberget, see the description above. Instead of parking on the left side, continue straight ahead and keep to the right at the intersection. You can drive all the way to the top of Lilla Bolleberget.
