Ol-Anders - Hälsingland Farmhouse and Visitor Centre in Alfta
Near the village of Alfta lies the Hälsingland Farmhouse Ol-Anders. The buildings on the farm have entrances in empirical style and also beautiful interior paintings from 1848. The farm is a visitor centre for the UNESCO World Heritage Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland. There is also a tourist office with information on what to see and do. In the Emigrant Museum you can follow an emigrant’s journey from Alfta to Bishop Hill in the United States. If you are interested in genealogy and searching for your roots, we have what you need.
Information
We are currently building an exhibition about the world's perhaps most famous moose, the cartoon character Hälge and his friends. One of the buildings houses “The Children’s World Heritage”, where your own creativity is in focus.
A newly built industrial museum about the company ÖSA is also located on the farm. Learn about the manufacturing of forest machines that started in a smithy and developed into a world-leading industry.
